Now it is difficult to remember how much gasoline cost in the USSR about 70 years ago. Today's youth will no longer believe that gasoline cost 7 kopecks per liter. And that the range of fuel ball is much larger than now. True, there were many times fewer gas stations in the country, they all belonged to the state. Hence the price, which was the same throughout the country.
The price of gasoline was set for a certain period of time, for a quarter, for six months. Gasoline was dispensed in 10 liters, such a measure was necessary, because in the USSR there were no columns capable of exactly counting 1 liter. The range consisted of A-66, A-72, A-76, AI-93. Diesel fuel, jet fuel and motorcycle oil-gasoline blends.
The organizations issued coupons for gasoline. Happy owners of private cars, paid in cash. Diesel fuel was rare at gas stations. Heavy fuel was consumed only by agricultural and military equipment. But still it was and cost 40 kopecks. The cost of aviation fuel is twenty rubles. A-72 brand gasoline cost 70 kopecks per 10 liters (7 kopecks per liter). Not so much.
The average salary in the late 70s was 150-180 rubles per month. To fill 40 liters you need only 2.80r. Very little. Only now, a personal car for a simple worker in those years was a real luxury.
In the 70s, they began to reduce a large assortment of gasoline, they stopped producing a fuel mixture of oil and gasoline for motorcycles, and the A-66 was also abandoned, followed by the A-72. Starting from the mid-80s, gasoline prices crept up, for 10 liters of AI-93 it was necessary to pay 4 rubles. In the 90s, many private gas stations were divorced, there was a single pricing, but it was poorly observed. Gasoline prices fluctuated strongly.
In 2000, the situation stabilized a little, but prices began to change faster than in the USSR. 1 liter AI-95 cost 8 rubles in 2011 already about 30 rubles. Fuel prices remain the most sensitive and react to any change in the world. It remains to be hoped that inside the country, which is the largest importer of oil in the world, things will be more or less normal.
